2008 Minneapolis Bike Tour

Join us for the second annual Minneapolis Bike Tour, presented by Toyota. Friends, family, and cycling enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy the spectacular Grand Rounds Scenic Byway System at their own pace. Choose a 14- or 37- mile route; parkways and roadways along the routes will be closed to motorized traffic. Rest stops, route support, and breathtaking views are provided along the way. The event also features the Star Tribune “Aftour” party, including entertainment, local bands, merchandise, exhibits and food concessions.

Proceeds from the Minneapolis Bike Tour will benefit The Foundation for Minneapolis Parks.

Date:	Sunday, September 14, 2008
Time:	7:30 am - 3 pm (on-site registration opens at 6:30 am) Participants begin the tour between 7:30am and 9:00am with staggered start times. The parkways are closed for the event and segments will re-open at designated times, with the entire course re-opened to traffic at 2:30pm.

On-Site Weekend Registration:	September 13th, 9 am - 12 pm September 14th, 6:30 am - 8:30 am $42 age 18 and older $15 age 6 - 17 Free age 5 and younger Parade Field, 400 Kenwood Parkway
*postmarked by September 5; dropped off by 4:30pm, September 5, at MPRB headquarters, 2117 West River Road; or completed online by September 5, 11:59pm CDT

Registration is limited to 8,000 riders. T-shirts are guaranteed for pre-registered participants, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who register September 13-14.

Thirty lucky winners will be randomly chosen from all online pre-registrations to be part of a VIP start on the 37 mile route.

Each of the 30 winners will receive a commemorative 2008 "Ride with Erik" t-shirt and Erik's custom Specialized water bottle.

Registration for the "Ride With Eric" will close on Sept. 5th at 11:59pm CDT. Winners will be sent an e-mail confirmation for details and posted on our website and the Erik's Bike Shop website before the ride.
